SILVA ANNOUNCES PLANS TO BUILD COMMUNITY TRUST IN EANES

Entrepreneur and CEO vows to take Eanes to the Next Level of Excellence

West Lake Hills, Texas - Today, candidate Aaron Silva announced a series of policy and management proposals to build greater trust amongst the Eanes community and the Board of Trustees. Building community trust is one of the five planks of Silva’s campaign to take Eanes to the Next Level of Excellence.

“Over the years, there has been a breakdown in trust between the Eanes community and the Board of Trustees - I experienced this first hand, and I’ve heard other parents share the same story countless times,” said Silva. “There are three components that I will focus on as your next Trustee to rebuild trust in the community: Communication, Accountability, and Ethics,” Silva concluded.

According to Silva, building community trust in the board requires improved communication between the board and the public, accountability for board decisions and education outcomes, and making ethics paramount to board service.

The other four planks of Silva’s Campaign focus on rewarding great teachers, forging partnerships with parents, achieving excellence in the classroom, and bringing an entrepreneur’s eye to the budget. Silva’s campaign will release policy proposals for each plank that will be actionable on Day One of his service on the Board of Trustees.

You can find the full Building Community Trust policy paper on his website: www.silva4eanes.com/policy. He also includes a schedule for when each of these policy papers will be released.

Silva said, “as I thought about putting myself out there to become a member of the Eanes Board of Trustees, I told myself I would be completely transparent with the public about what I believe the priorities of the board should be and what I would propose starting on day one of my term. By avoiding hollow campaign slogans and giving you real substance, you will have the information you need to cast an informed vote and hold me accountable once elected.”
